HK among worst for light pollution

A new study has found that Hong Kong has one of the worst light-pollution problems among cities in the world. Scientists from the University of Hong Kong say parts of urban areas here are more than 1,000 times brighter than the international dark sky standard. The study involved taking more than five million night sky brightness measurements since May 2010, resulting in the biggest single database ever to be collected for such a project in the world. Ian Pooler asks Jason Pun, one of those who participated in the study, for more. (4.53)


UK Budget

Staying in Europe, the British government is to announce further spending cuts in today's Budget, and use the money saved for large-scale infrastructure projects designed to boost economic growth. Andrew Wood asks our UK correspondent Gavin Grey for his preview. (2.53)


Economic expansion in China

Research firm, The Conference Board, says the current economic expansion on the mainland should continue in the near-term. This came after the firm's Leading Economic Index for China increased 1.3 percent in February - the same pace as in January.
